The Kizil Ayak (Kizalayak) are a Turkmen group whose weavings are often grouped with Ersari work. Since chuvals were woven as one side of a bag, many survive today as flat panels like this one.

Made by: Kizil Ayak (Kizalayak) Turkmen weavers

Country: Turkmenistan / Afghanistan

Period: Late 19th to early 20th century, specific dates available upon request.

Provenance: From the inventory of Harry Meyers / Oasis Antique Rugs, the rug dealer that preceded HAVN's new showroom.
